Storyboards and Ideas Generation

This blog entry embodies my storyboards and ideas generation based on my ideas generation for my 30 second ident animation for Blurt's identification I can't lie some of these I came up with and created before I made my decision on my animation- what is also an added way with how I come up with some of the ideas and storyboards I have created.

Like this storyboard example below and another 6 Storyboards and Brainstorms below that one.
Storyboard
Originally I come up with this storyboard a while ago when I created my first three bumper animations and face it, I was some what swayed to follow this storyboard for my 30 second clip, until I found other ideas and starter experimenting more.

Time scale plan
This was just a scribbly time plan based on how  I plan to time my animation and put my footage together saying a rough plan on what's going to feature in my animations. This was just to help me as a guide.

Brainstorm 1
Storyboard 1

For this brainstorm and storyboard above, I come up with the battle of the movies, where I decided to have Stan Lee verse Speilburg which I realise that is a bad combination to make battle it out for the reason it wouldn't make sense to, maybe if I used DC movies it would make more sense! but I haven't watched all of them or as many as I have watched marvel... anyway I also had the idea to have whatever Gondry's work comes into the picture it'll be how I give blurt an identity. But like I said I didn't go for this idea.

Brainstorm 2
Storyboard 2

For this storyboard and brain storm is another battle of the movies again with Speilburg and Avengers but this time instead of Michael Gondry, I have looked at Roger Hargreaves to include in my 30 second bumper with my own mr men, as a touch off the originality side but with this storyboard I think It has more of a narrative to it than the first storyboard, that could work for an ident or advert. You could say this storyboard is a developed reincarnation of the first storyboard basically. This became the next phase to pick for my 30 second animation. Till I created storyboard and brainstorm, 3,4, 5 and 6.

                              Brain Storm 3                                                       Storyboard 3

For this storyboard and idea I developed this idea with Gondry, Hargreaves and Speilburg just to experiment with other combination ideas the concept behind this animation is a bit jagged to be fair, it is mr blurt blurting to his friends (my mr men and Hargreaves's Mr Men about the new series Blurt and how it is going to be in the UCA featuring these three artists on the premiere episode which I think does work to a degree because I find a lot of adverts and trailers these days can be full of enjambement and still be memorable but this does make sense in some cases but I don't think it is the right combination or the best idea for the narrative.
For this brain storm and storyboard, has a developed storyline and narrative behind as I have  have somehow made this idea make some sense but this idea is very much based behind my brainstorm on the left, where I have  written what I will feature in my animation and how I will edit my animation, chose my imagery and audio... in all fairness this storyboard is quite similar to my 30 second animation... but I haven't used Michael Gondry's imagery. I think out of all my storyboards so far this one is the most developed idea I have come up with out of all of my other ideas so far despite the fact this storyboard idea is very experimental!

Brain storm 5                                                  Storyboard 5

For this storyboard idea I come up with a typographic approach where I decided to come up with the idea of Writing the names of my artists I have focused on and put my work I have created inside the type, I like this idea most so far because it is experimental and can work very well... I was inspired by the marvel intro Ident especially seeing as in this storyboard I intend on using this artist. so yes  that's the main idea and inspiration for this idea as well as featuring my Mr Men on this animation followed with an abstract twist on Gondry's flashing imagery advertising Blurt and channel 4.

Brain Storm 6

For this brainstorm this basically got my ideas bubbling after speaking to Paul through Zoom, where  mentioned potential ideas about The old retro Lichtenstein approach as well as using a more contemporary aesthetic (my imagery)  Along with the visuals from Stan Lee that I had already put together as well as new footage. same for my choice with the Mr Men, I wanted to use them to show originality and to put my own spin into the animation footage and film. This is basically addressing my visuals and audio in the most basic way as well as a scribbled timescale which you can only see half of it which I apologies for... its because of my dodgy photographing skills at the early hours where my handy co-ordination for holding a phone turns bad!

Storyboard 6

This is basically the storyboard of the hour!! it is the most colourful one!! Anyway- this is just the basics of what I hope to incorporate into my 30 second animation this will be one of the guides I intend to follow for creating my 30 second animation/ident which this has the most sensible narrative and tells a story quite fluently for a 30 second trailer- it features three artists and gets to the point. It features all 3 artists I have chosen for my Ident which I think has my strongest imagery in with these artists and I am looking forward to creating this composition, if not this one then at least similar... using this as a guideline. The storyline is simple and effective, so I think this is the winning storyboard for my 30 second animation.
