Paul & Keith Pop Art
Roy Lichtenstein Part 2
Illustrations and footage
Paul and Keith
This second part of Lichtenstein’s work I wanted to create a separate blog entry for because I thought it be a bit complex to put together and I felt this imagery deserves ya own blog entry in honour of my tutors Paul Crawley and Keith Sargent- who have been superstars this year to help me get to where I am today- I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t them guiding me every step of the way even under Covid 19. I wanted them to have a bit of a tribute to thank them and they are a great dynamic duo and I figured why not- so I illustrated theme on illustrator which started off to be just a harmless experiment getting to know the programme then because I liked these illustrators and remind me again of the art style of Lichtenstein I thought I can add these images in so Paul, Keith get your tennis rackets swinging as you’re going to be featured superstars in ny animations as well as in reality, you’ll be hurting a few triple serves when you’re finished looking at this entry. So Paul Keith, Thankyou for everything you’ve done for me and the rest of us- this ones for you! My only is this a tribute to the both of you- it helped me with character design dramatically! I can’t lie But it enabled me to show originality on my imagery by adding my own twists to the images.

Paul & Keith image development
With this piece I developed it further by colouring in the imagery using the voice/tool through illustrator in the way of colour in our colour is it in a very patchy like pattern, particularly in the character's clothing you'll notice I have used various tones and tints of blue in the clothing just to experiment and give my imagery more character and depth and that seems to be the way I colour in illustrations via Illustrator, I like these illustrations but I have one issue, but thats more me being really picky... Paul should be on the left and Keith on the righthand side.
Paul's character being coloured in
This here is a video for how I coloured in Paul's character... sorry Keith I didn't make a video for that one but thats. because I was running out of film space as it is so yes... sorry Keith! Anyway thuis basically showing my technique and process for how I coloured this imagery but not just this imagery but all other imagery I have created on illustrator too where I haven't used the shape tool, you'll notice the difference because if I used the shape tool where I can add colour and fill... its very block colour and one toned colour where as if I colour my imagery this way you can make characters more exciting to colour in, its more fun and challenging I feel- quite therapeutic! But back to the point if you colour your imagery like I have here then it has more life in the image because it has more atmosphere and depth to the image and makes it look characteristically more exciting and more interesting which helps draw attention to the imagery. the only thing I would mention is through my own fault I wish had filmed myself drawing the illustration too to show my development and I wish I had filmed this footage a little better to be honest.
Experimentation
With this piece of course I wanted to experiment and edit this imagery I coloured in personally just to see what I can come up with, I can't lie this was curiosity said the cat again and well, took it upon me to experiment with Prisma again using the Lichtenstein filter... I figured it make sense considering the fact that I have studied and looked at his work that it makes sense to pick this filter and give this a shot of trial and error, I can't lie I don't really like this filter with this image as much as I hoped I think it's too yellow and well you It harder to tell who the characters are.
Video footage
Videos I created on after affects our faces on the tutors funky and I come up with the idea for them to have the little segment in the animation almost like her present presenting kind of thing and I wanted to have more characters in the animation space don't like people around me basically we need to experiment further by creating different experiments and ways of creating footage yeah so that's the secret with these videos they are very simplistic but they work some of what I've put on there very abstract and some of it is very fluent to with its movements and how it's been arranged like this videobasically we need to experiment further by creating different experiments and ways of creating footage yeah so that's the secret with these videos they are very simplistic but they work some of what I've put on there very abstract and some of it is very fluent to with its movements and how it's been arranged like this video below.
Paul & Keith's character's animation footage.
Right with this first video I've basically made it simple so I will need to continue getting to grips with key framing as I was still a bit lost and feel like in a bit behind on knowing how to keyframe properly so when I created this footage I want to keep it simple and have like porn keep that one on the opposite side switch of the sort of thing and thenRight with this first video I've basically made it simple so I will need to continue getting to grips with key framing as I was still a bit lost and feel like in a bit behind on knowing how to keyframe properly so when I created this footage I want to keep it simple and have like porn keep that one on the opposite side switch of the sort of thing and then let the magic do the talking I guess which is the kind of idea I wanted to go along with more of the experimentation video yeah I'd like to feature some of this in my animation because I just wanted something different from Liechtensteiner side which I thought would also be quite good to include this footage in my 30 second event indent let the magic do the talking I guess which is the kind of idea I wanted to go along with more of the experimentation video yeah I'd like to feature some of this in my animation because I just wanted something different from Liechtensteiner side which I thought would also be quite good to include this footage in my 30 second event ident
Trial and error & experimentation animation
Segment of the animation I would say is very much a trial and error as I had lots of different imagery that I felt was a bit lost but also kind of left out and I kind of need to interpret that within this sort of animation and wanted to see what I can create a set of leftover imagery I created really that was Lichtenstein style and you need to guess in my own original way, so yes this celebration is basically just a trial and error and exploring experimentation and I don't know just progress and development pretty much.
