Artist 2: Stan Lee
Stan Lee
Anyway, You may remember these videos or at least one of them from my blog entry about Jordan’s technical sessions that I said I would talk about this animation in more detail reason veing is because I hope to feature this in my 30 second animation somewhere in there- I basically come up with the amazing idea of Ironman and Hulk to play Basket ball and using the key crane tool on after effects, I basically had iron man bouncing the ball and then throwing fit to hulk and hulk being the angry Chatavter he is the ball hits him on the nose and gets angry so the basket ball flies into Iron man’s hand so yes that’s the story of this animation and honestly the reason for this narrative was to teach us all about key framing, the use of puppet tool and the script where I managed to make the ball wiggle at the very end of the clip because of the script tool which I found quite complex and glad I managed to learn how to apply a script to my motion image, so I am able to apply what I learnt and because of how sucessful this animation was I really wanted to feature it in my 30 second Ident. As I have previously mentioned on the technical sessions blog for me to make thisnfootage I had to choose characters that didn’t have a background as it is a separate image/layer I wanted to pick characters that I already drawn and illustrate do on illustrator for one because I wanted to use my own imagery for originality but joy only that but I wanted to use these characters I had recreated in my own way, because I thought if this goes to success I could use this in my 30 second footage so really it works in the best of both worlds because this is one of my favourite clips I have made for this project because it’s simple but it works well.
I had some feedback from my friend outside the uni who gave me some feedback that I thought was good I just had to include it, which was:

Feedback from my friend outside the uni
I also wanted to film other segments of this clip where I was just experimenting for the majority of making this clip to be fair and when I was creating this clip the thing what I didn't like so much was the stuff nearest to the end so I felt like it went on a bit too long because it was supposed to have a 30 second clip it then goes on a bit too long I think because we are supposed to look at three artists not one if we look at one artist I say yeah that's okay but I'd probably edit this footage still and give it a nicer order make it flow a bit better but seeing as we are looking at three artists three artists not one if we look at one artist I'd say yeah that's okay but I'd probably edit this footage still and give it a nicer order make it flow a bit better but seeing as we are looking at three artists, I've worked out thanks to the help of Alexa, that because 30÷3 is 10 so I worked out that each animation has to be 10 seconds each unless what I intend on doing and if each frame is standard 12 frames each second, then in total I'd be allowed up to 120 frames for each 10 seconds and altogether if I was to multiply that by 3 id get 360.
Which is the amount of frames you'd get for a 30 second standard animation, but... I'm not going for that route for the whole animation because some of the footage I hope to include may either be faster and works better or slower.
I'm also still intend to add my channel for bit tests I created because I thought they were successful so so I would possibly say about 5 to 7 seconds of each artist of us to add other bits in unless I add this overlapping each other so that it works but in a more fluent way so I can include the other artists and anything else I want to add t I can include the other artists and anything else I want to without using too much time one one artist and not enough on the other. The best parts of this animation is the battle scene, it is more fluent and I love how I animated the 4 sliding into the animation... so I will defiantly be using this part of the 30 second animation. I feel like some of what I have there is good but goes on a bit too long and there are parts of each clip I have filmed is better than other sections in the clip. I think the reason why it managed to get to bang on 30 seconds because I was pretty much experimenting to film footage and seeing what works and what doesn't again using Imotion and go along from there, that was my original plan.
Imagery and Film Footage
This blog entry will feature video footage that I have put together using a variety of adobe software programmes which has pushed my learning and development to a flying storm as I have used Illustrator for drawing my imagery, Photoshop for filming my footage with some added digital effects where I have experimented with varied blend modes on the layers of my imagery as well as learning to add a pattern to imagery I put together if it is in the same layer as the image I want to put a pattern onto, I have used Premiere Pro which enables me to edit my videos the way I have done through the majority of my animations o have put together and will continue to use for putting the best parts of these videos in my 30 second animation that I am looking forward to mentioning about in my nex after at couple of entries that follow on after this entry and finally I have used After effects in my animation after being taught my technical workshop with Jordan In the beginning of may where we was shown how to use the puppet tool and to make a script using After effects! Alongside that I was able to get to know and understand the use of key framing in animation which is vital in animation and on after effects! Which I have finally learnt- which I say, Aústa Lavista!!
Anyway here are my clips below that I hope to feature in my 30 second ident below! Of course taking the best bits of each clip as some of these clips are bang on 30 seconds on their own to help me create a successful powerhouse BLURT ident- only on channel four- of course featuring the legendary man- Stan Lee’s imagery!
For this footage I was going to use this imagery, but the image in the middle wasn't used in this segment of this animation because it didn't make sense but these were the images I picked for our technical workshop with Jordan.
I had some feedback from my friend outside the uni who gave me some feedback that I thought was good I just had to include it, which was:

Kim, this feedback is great- I love your commentates on the basket ball!
More feedback from a friend outside the uni.
One can say they was proud of the animation and producer I saw it as an achievement as I learnt a lot whilst doing it and created a good narrative that works well with this animation it's simple but effective and it just works and it's plain and blue hurts like there's no explanation but there is a narrative there. One could say they was proud of the animation and producer I saw it as an achievement as I learnt a lot whilst doing it and created good narrative and I started to understand After Effects... so you can't blame me if I was to be bias and say this Is along with the Saul Bass videos are some of my best work because it is me showing my learning and development as a designer. Of course there are improvements I could address such as maybe creating my own backdrop but... in fairness this was a race against time because at this point I was more interested in learning the After Effects. I personally want to include this whole clip somewhere in my animation because I like the effects I have applied to it and it is a learning curve that I have endeavoured through learning After Effects.

Contemporary Popart... Iron Man
With the small series of imagery above you'll find I've amalgamated ironman and my comic style character together to create one dynamic image as a comic style illustration. I'll come up with this idea based around experimentation as I use the the paintbrush tour on photo shop where I was able to make my own paintbrush and what I did here was I use the black to paint on the comic so character as an image on its own as like a backdrop and then over the top of that I decided to experiment further after discovering thisthe paintbrush tour on photo shop where I was able to make my own paintbrush and what I did here was I use the black to paint on the comic so character as an image on its own as like a backdrop and then over the top of that I decided to experiment further after discovering this effect that I can include and what I wanted to try and do was put iron man's face amongst mine so it's a double headed comic character sort of thing like almost like ironman is coming out of the person like you are ironman sort of thing. The thing I like about these images is the fact that they're both comic characters because the loo ironman is on the TV but before it was TV and on the movies it was it was based off a comic character back in the day when Stanley created the Marvel characters and of course my art and illustrational style is Pop Art comic style so I thought I'd amalgamate the two together and see what it looks like I guess and it's actually been quite a successful experiment and I've also hoped to incorporate at least one of these images in my second animations despite creating these images at a later date I still think they are strong and have potential to be in my animation so why not put at least one of these experiments in my ident.
For me the Top three experiments on this small series out of these Ironman series I'd say is test number one because I'm not only does it involve ironman but there's also the stuff from Captain America also and where his star is iconic, although we don't see the character we know it is him because of the star being the iconic detail of Captain America's symbol besides the A onto of the head. I like the fact that you can see both characters fully yet it looks like the two characters in one but in a subtle way when it's not intimidating or confusing it just works for me and I like the idea of amalgamating the characters together to create one comic character sort of thing but with the other experiments I've done it's not that I don't like finally I like the fourth one in fact I'd probably say that is the favourite because I like the fact that you can see both characters fully yet it looks like the two characters in one but in a subtle way when it's not intimidating or confusing it just works for me and I like the idea of amalgamating the characters together to create one comic character sort of thing but with the other experiments I've done it's not that I don't like but I do think these are more trial and error where is the other three seem to work better and have more meaning to them but that's just my opinion.
Clip One
For this animation I filmed it by using an app called emotion and how I did it was I had all my Marvel characters in a pattern as an image as part of a layer which I then put a pattern over the top of the image layer and then you get the Marvel pattern with the normal colours of the characters but I've put the matter different blend mode and I think I went for penlight because we does as it gives the effect like a see-through kind of affects but you're still getting the colour of the pattern which I really like this affect and I found it to be one of the best parts of my animation.
How I made this footage was I basically is the Marvel pattern as a paintbrush and are you coloured them in four different colours the red blue yellow and red and green I know which also green because that's the last colour used and I then applied the pattern over the top of the green which is how I'm getting the effective work well- because it's light on dark.
Typographic Animation
(My Favourite clip!
This this clip is I've got to say is my favourite one out of all of the Marvel clips the the reason as to why I like this clip so much is because at the very beginning of the clip it gives me a bit of a reminder of Saul Bass's kind of work where he has like block colour whether it's like a black and white for silhouettes or if it's a shape he it creates the shape to be like a dramatic opening and I feel like that's what I achieved this clip because what I've done is you'll find that when I press play when you press play you'll get a white diamond sorry for spiders but it will go across the name is Stan Lee which I love that's my favourite bit of the clip because I I really like how I've managed to make the very opening of the animation very dramatic in the same senses so buses work with Psycho and Anatomy of a Murder his intros he makes for the movies are very intense and very like to make you feel in gauged and to make you like pants onto watching it sort of thing which is what I wanted to do with this video and I feel like I have achieved that by adding this effect at the veryI really like how I've managed to make the very opening of the animation very dramatic in the same senses so buses work with psycho and anatomy of a murder I love how moving they are and his intro for the movies are very intense and very like to make you feel engaged and gives you an urge to watch it and to make you like pants onto watching it sort of thing which is what I wanted to do with this video and I feel like I have achieved that by adding this effect at the very beginning of the clip here, I will defiantly include this in my animation, without a doubt!
Psycho Intro made in 1960... which is news to me! but here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tek8QmKRODw
Anatomy Of a Murder made in 1959, again this is also news to me! But here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTs1DfwKDcw&t=21s
Teaser Clip
This clip here is basically just a tester almost like a demo clip just featuring some of what's going to be put into my 30 second animation it's where I've got the typographic idea from because I'm referring back to my storyboard and showing my inspiration on like the Marvel identity this is basically what that 2nd clip is for... was the two second clip is about which I wanted to include in my identity This clip here is basically just a tester almost like a demo clip just featuring some of what's going to be put into my 32nd animation it's where I've got the typographic idea from because I'm referring back to my storyboard and showing my inspiration on like the Marvel identity this is basically what that 2nd that two second clip is about which I wanted to include in my identity. You could even say this clip is basically a trailer of the trailer so this is like a teaser of the I don't trailer sort of thing.
A 30 Second Clip
So yes I will be picking segments of each of these clips to feature in my 30 second animation ident but of course the best bits. I still really liked a segment from my marvel 10 second clip too, so I will have to keep that in mind also.
