Digital Blurt Logo Designs

Blurt Logo Designs

On this entry is basically developed design ideas for Blurt's logo on Illustrator, based on the logo designs I have doodled and found inspiration from existing logo designs, from the most iconic logos we see today. The reason why I chose to design my logos on illustrator, is because of Here are my developed design ideas below.

Blurt Logo Designs

For this design idea, was my first design idea,  I thought about recreating lettering for the word Blurt, the inspiration for the letter B came from one of my stencils as I liked the black letter kind of look and I thought it could work well with my designs, so I can't lie but to say I have kept that conceptional though the majority of my designs. On here I was focusing on on the formation of the lettering and the colour scheme.
The one in black was me testing the lettering seeing how it looked. The Blurt in multi colours I wanted to give the idea this programme was to do with art and I wanted to use a lot of colour on the design, though I did think it could suggest Gay Pride seeing as Gay Pride's identified as Rainbows covering different sexualities which can the programme can be about that as apposed to art and designers.

The bottom logo for colour scheme, I based it of one of my chosen artist's colour scheme on his original work (Micheal Gondry) as his video work with white stripes is red, very light kind of lime green and black. Which I will explain more of in another entry. Which I thought could possibly work but people may not understand the relevance of the colour scheme and  considering there are three artists not one artist being featured on the Ident. So I thought about creating alternative designs.

As you've come across the logos on the top right, I won't talk about them, though I care up with the idea of putting the lettering that was in the Black, under circle shapes in the colour co-ordination of the logo design above... again from the inspiration of the White stripes colour scheme in the music videos. I then had a go with playing with a different colour scheme, using pink yellow and blue, as I wanted to use lighter colours so the word blurt can stand out more. as well as it representing the primary colours, blue, yellow and red, the reason as to why I picked pink over the red was because for a backdrop colour  I thought the colour red was bit too vibrant but too dark against the other two colours. Where as pink I think worked well with the yellow and blue. I then had a play with that colour scheme and on the next two logos below I decided to make paint splats in the same colour scheme, to give it the art kind of look to it so it shows its an art programme by showing it without telling which was an approach I wanted to try and convey in my logo designs. Which I liked this idea so you'll see I have played with that idea and concept further in my design ideas. (All will be revealed)

I then decided to Look at my doodle ideas, and I saw a design of a rainbow above the word blurt, so I tried that idea and to be fully honest with you is how I came up with the idea of the paint splats, using the Blue splits as clouds.  And you can see the logo below, was without the splat clouds, just to see which worked better, I can't lie but I prefer the logo above. Though again I would say the rainbow concept can suggest Gay pride therefore it could suggest mixed messages. The majority of the logos on the left is of Blurt with a pencil like you're writing the word 'Blurt'  which I liked but I wanted to experiment with proportion and perspective, looking at the logo at different angle perspectives seeing what it look like in a straight line, with blurt up right and pencil below and with the pencil onto with Blurt below.

I then wanted to add a feature on my design with the pencil, referring back to my doodle design idea, I drew a hand like someone was writing the word Blurt, which I thought wicked well and just gave that added aesthetic. Again the same reason for using the paint splats, I chose to feature a pencil to show Blurt is an art programme without telling, so it gives people a prompt and a bit of an idea without giving too much information away in a short amount of time.
Finally, the Blurt down the very bottom, I liked the rainbow concept as one of the things I would associate art with is a lot of colour so I created little long gated rectangles and coloured them like the colours you'd find in the rainbow, just for a unique kind of experiment as at this point you could say I was getting hooked into it.
(Which you will soon see)

Logos Designs Page 2
For this page of designs are basically just further developments and experiments on  some of the designs from the previous page, where I've added more details and developments.
The logo on the top left is new, I thought of the idea of playing with the arrangement of the lettering for blurt as an experiment. I then thought about adding paint brushes to the logo giving the logo designs a bit more of a meaningful spark kind of thing. I like the Blurt going downwards just because its unique but I personally think it looks good as a piece on its own, not necessarily as a logo I think it is a bit much for a logo design and I like the added paint splats with the Blurt on designs like the pencil design on the bottom left,  I also quite liked the design on the top right and the lower left with the rainbow within the blurt. I felt that the logo saying blurt with the paint splays works best as a logo out of these designs on Page 2 because it is simple, subtly says the message and well shows you its an Art programme without directly telling you it is.
There are pieces and designs I look at and would say they work better as an image of its own as opposed to a logo design as some of them either look too illustrative, gives too much away or just doesn't work for a design.

Logo Designs Page 3

Here are some more logo designs and developments I came up with, I have experimented with alternative design ideas, where I have added more experiments using the similar design concepts as the ideas on the previous pages.
My favourite design on this page are the designs on the top right and down, of the word blurt with a. paperclip as part of the B design with a squiggle kind of effect looking like its been painted but also like the word Blurt is highlighted kind of thing.

I also like the design on the image on the bottom middle with the paint brush with splat paint with the word Blurt on the paint brush and the paint splats spelling blurt but I think its a it much for a logo design as  they say the simpler the design the better. and as much as I like the design I wouldn't use that as a logo. I would rather use one of the designs on the right as a possible logo design as I think it'll work better as a possible logo design as the type is simple and the colour scheme works well also.
I also like the design with the Paint brushes as I like the simplicity for this design you can tell its an art programme but in a subtle way without directly telling you. I also like the design with he pink and purple paint splats as I tried experimenting with different typefaces and used my typeface I created on the previous Unit using Font Struct called Saph Serif so it has the original touch to this logo. (Using triangles and squares for the format of the typeface. I also tried typing Blurt using the same typeface but using the rainbow concept again pretty much just for the purpose of experimentation. The other logo designs on this page are just experiments and developments from the previous pages.

Logo Designs Page 4

This page here I can't lie but is my favourite page out of the 6 pages.  I think this design could work as a potential logo, I came up with he idea of continuing with the paint splats but I wanted to use three different colours for each of the paint splats and have the Black letter stencil style B on the splats as a symbolic kind of representation to give off the art kind of meaning seeing as one of the meanings for the word Blurt or an alternative word for Blurt is Splat, so it made sense to try creating a logo design that could mean splat or Blurt. Which explains a broader meaning to the paint splats as well as showing Blurt is an art programme in a less direct way of showing it. on this page I have used a range of different colours of splats on each design, colours that work well together, I have looked at the primary and secondary colours on a couple designs and just playfully experimenting with different colours of paint splats with he rest of the lettering blurt being written downwards just to experiment with the arrangement of the text just to try other design ideas and processes. I like this logo design concept because it is simple but effective and therefore gets the message across quicker. I think this design would be quite a nice identity symbol for blurt.

Logo Designs Page 5

This page here are basically more design ideas for the Blurt logo based of previous design ideas, only difference with these designs with the paint splats is the fact that I redesigned the R so the R looks more like the letter R. which just adds and improves the logo design  the other logo designs on the tip left were just added experiments from the previous pages and I wanted to show the design of the original design and the new redesign of the R. I found the inspiration of the use of negative space by using the B in white by the arrow idea with the Fedex logo as I found that idea clever to play with negative space, which I then thought about using that similar idea with playing with negative space with meaning like the Fedex logo.

Logo Designs Page 6

This page here is purely an experimental page for other design concepts. based on some of the design ideas I came up with on the previous pages, the design ideas on the top row, I like as they're similar to the concept on page 4 apart from the added use of a paper clip within the design idea, as well as still using the design idea with the paint splats and the rest of the word blurt going downwards. I also liked this concept so I tried creating a dimple design of the word Blurt with a paper clip before the B which is where I got the idea for the designs above. I also continued with the rainbow concept with the B using the rainbow concept whilst the rest of the word blurt is kept simple. The design in the middle of a globe with he word Blurt, the meaning to this logo, meaning that I was trying to get across the programme being suited for people across the world as well as to use the green paint splats representing each countries as well as to suggest that Blurt is an art programme but in a very subtle way. In a sense that did work for that purpose by the fact that it could possibly show that it's an art programme but in a very subtle way in the showing not telling kind of thing, in helping with that being the logo being a globe also, but I do think the image on the logo could of been a lot better designed, it could of been cleaner and sharper for a design, or rethought of the design, as in I could of used the lettering for the blurt as the countirs and maybe use colourful paint splats around the globe or use  the image of the paint brush with the globe with cut in the middle or on the edge of the paint brush. The design with the three circles I had another attempt with but using the traffic light concept just as an experiment, there wasn't an awful lot of a reason for that design apart from the use of experimenting and getting hooked into Illustrator. Finally the logos on the bottom of this page again I like but I do think these designs are more illustrations as opposed to a logo design to be fully honest with you as these two designs I feel have a bit too much going on in one image for a logo... they say keep it simple... the simpler the better after all.

This image above is basically just a Photo montage of some of my logo designs I created on Illustrator and stuck in my sketch book I did this ultimately just for experimentation and well just to help with ideas generation really by creating a bit of a mood board for my logo designs.

Logo Designs Photo Montague 2

This here is another moodpboard layout for my logo designs I have created on Illustrator just seeing what designs work with what and really just deciphering on what designs works best with each other really, this was just another way to show all my experimentation on a Mood board kind of layout. I can't lie but to say these logo designs all look much cleaner and more sophisticated than my doodle designs that I have drawn in my sketch book.
