Ideas Generation
Ideas for Animating & Narration
The idea for this was to think of the obscure, to gather our outside the box thinking, to start off with we had to look at a flip book named, story generator I think it way or come up with our own ideas. This was to teach us that no ideas are too big or too small, it's what you do with the ideas to make something strange and out of the ordinary and turn it to a story.
This below is what I came up with.

| My Ideas Generation |
- The ideas I've highlighted are the ideas that grew onto me the most and the ones I'm most likely to do my some of my bazar animation on, because I can see the a narrative within these ideas. As well as the fact I've had to consider the fact that animation in its self is a slow process and takes up a lot of time. So I've made myself be ruthless and pick a top five, to work on.
- I've used these ideas as a guideline really, Though I have come to a realisation whilst coming up with these ideas, some of them are very similar concepts and it seems to me I have really floated upon the idea of mars. For instance as a lot of my storyline guidelines features mars. looking at my top five ideas which if you can't read them are:
- After a second honeymoon a failed journalist grew an extra arm.
- After years of ridicule an oversized model learnt to fly.
- On the night before Christmas a talking pumpkin builds an igloo.
- With only a week to live a clumsy Gymnast joins the Mafia.
- During a leap year a talking dog joins the Mafia.
To be fair there was a few other ideas on this brain storm that grew to me as well, such as the following:
- A year of ridicule a retired ballet dancer has a showdown with a sheriff.
- Last week a mummy learnt to walk again.
- Yesterday a talking fly joins the mafia
- Last week the world's oldest cat learns to fly.
- Last week a talking dog learnt to pole dance on mars.
- In fairness, I had a conversation with friend: Korine (from Y2 Illustration, whilst planning these ideas, in which she also identified about how I've floated towards the mars idea, considering I have five ideas that feature the planet mars of some kind, and she said " You could, include each one of those ideas to make a story." Which in fairness I thought about long and hard as that wasn't such a bad idea, but the only issue I'd have is the fact that these videos were supposed to last 30 seconds long and I think the narrative would be too complicated so sadly, I've had to politely decline this idea.
- I felt that some of my ideas I've come up with don't have the best storyline such as "last week a mummy learns to walk again" yes okay that's fine, but I felt I could expand on that narration more, maybe say where this happened or why he learnt to walk again etc, I would like to if I had the time to do so.
A while back I have learnt the importance of the rule with target audiences, how you should consider these factors such as:
- Age Groups
- People's needs
- Occupation
- Hobbies and interests etc
Which additionally adds to why I've picked these specific narrations as my top five options, because I feel these ideas are chaotic, out of the box- out of the ordinary, that these ideas for a story/narratives which I feel are stereotypically aimed at younger audience, such as children aged 3-12 or maybe even teens in some cases- if they like cartoon characters, Or even animators or college students, for educational purposes or occupational purposes so sometimes the audience range can vary, As everyone is different at the end of the day.
- Back to my point, these five i've highlighted, have a narrative I feel I can address these themes, to know my audience, to come up with a story behind the storyline, that makes sense.
